Dragon Tree Lodge is purpose-built hosted accommodation. It was designed with a range of accommodation options to suit all budgets.

In addition to being a facility for gay men to enjoy, Dragon Tree Lodge also welcomes companies looking for a unique location to host business meetings, or for any group looking to book the whole Lodge for their event.

Our guests can enjoy the tranquillity of our location, a stunning elevated view of Bream Bay and the surrounding countryside, yet only 10 minutes drive from the state highway and Waipu village shops. We are well placed for local attractions of beaches, bush, caves and waterfalls, so don’t leave your camera at home!

The extensively planted grounds boast many citrus and fruit trees, as well as a mature vegetable garden, the produce of which we are able to share with our guests.

We have created an outdoor social area (including spa pool) which enjoys the breathtaking views, yet is nonetheless secluded and private enough to ensure our guests can be themselves. It’s great to return to after a day at the beach! Or, if you prefer, relax on the shady and private verandahs which have several seating areas.

Being on a no-exit road means that we enjoy a special location, where most of the sounds are native bird life. You can expect to see Tui, Kereru (Native Pigeon), Piwakawaka (Fantail), Quail, Pheasant and the colourful Australian rosella. Sometimes at night we even hear the cry of the kiwi, as well as the ubiquitous native owl, the Morepork.

Besides these attractions, there’s always our quality surround sound home theatre room and Blu-Ray/DVD/music collection for entertainment!
